Ingredients

  • 2 corn
  • 200 grams of raisins
  • 1 cup of chopped red onion
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons of liquefied yellow pepper
  • 1 / 2 cup milk
  • 4 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pinch of pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 pinch of cumin
  • 1 pinch of oregano powder
  • 1 cup beef or ground beef

Choclo Cake Preparation

  1. First we make a dressing with a cup of finely chopped red onion, 1 teaspoon of ground garlic and 2 tablespoons of blended yellow pepper.
  2. We cook everything for 10 minutes and add two shelled and blended corn, half a cup of milk and 4 tablespoons of butter, season with salt and pepper and reserve. Once warm, add an egg and mix well.
  3. For the filling we make a dressing in the pan with a cup of finely chopped red onion, 1 tablespoon of ground garlic, 1 tablespoon of chili powder, a pinch of cumin and a pinch of oregano powder.
  4. Add a cup of finely ground beef (it can be tenderloin, hip steak, or ground beef). Add a splash of water and cook for a few minutes.
  5. At the end we add 3 good tablespoons of raisins and place the filling in the bottom of a small baking dish and cover with the corn dough, so that it reaches up to three-quarters of the height of the container. We bake at 150 to 160 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes and that's it!

Cooking tips and tricks to make a delicious Choclo Cake

  • Make sure to choose corn in good condition, you must observe that its grains are shiny and if a milky liquid comes out when you poke them lightly with your nail, it means that it is fresh. Avoid those that are very hard, dry, or chopped.
  • If we want to do an experiment in the kitchen, we add some grated Andean cheese to the corn mixture before cooking it in the oven. This way we will give it a special treat.
