Ingredients

  • 3 sachets of unflavored gelatin
  • 3 gelatin sachets of different flavors
  • 1 package of Maria cookies
  • 1 can of condensed milk
  • 1 can of assorted fruit

Materials or utensils

  • 3 cups or bowls to refrigerate
  • Cake mold
  • Spoons
  • Knife
  • Dish towel
  • Fridge

Preparation

  • 1st Step:

Start by preparing the three flavors of gelatin in different containers. Once ready and warm, refrigerate.  

  • 2nd Step:

When the jellies have cooled, that is, cuajado, remove them from the molds and cut them into small squares. In another mold, preferably for making cakes, cover the bottom of Maria cookies and on them place the gelatin squares. Reserve in the refrigerator to continue with the preparation.

  • 3st Step:

Heat a cup of water and dissolve unflavored gelatin. Stir it constantly so it doesn't curdle, once dissolved add the condensed milk and mix well. Let boil for a few minutes without letting lumps form.

  • 4th Step:

Then, add all this mixture to the mold with the biscuit base, alternating with a few cubes of colored jellies.

  • 5th Step:  

with a paddle distribute the mixture of milk and gelatin well so that it is even. When ready, take it to the refrigerator until it sets completely.

  • 6th Step:  

Decorate the surface with fruits and at the end put the cake back in the refrigerator to keep it set.  

  • 7th Step:

Serve when you are well compact and accompany with some sweet cream or strawberries.

Tips when cooking

  • If you don't know how to prepare the gelatin place a cup of boiling water and in another cup of cold water dissolve the gelatin. Beat to the maximum so that all the crystals dissolve. Later add the boiling water and continue whisking. Once all the sugar disintegrated, let cool and refrigerate.
  • For the preparation to be in the best way, you must consider the tiempo having available to prepare it.
  • Other types of fruits such as strawberries, raspberries, peaches, pineapples or the one of your preference to include within the mixtures or to decorate. Also, use fruits in syrup to add sweetness to the cake.
  • Use variety colored jellies to provide a playful aspect to the recipe. Don't limit yourself to just three colors, use the one you want in the quantity you like.
  • Depending on the place where this recipe is prepared, you can change the Maria cookies for pieces of cake, previously made, or by crumbs of dry bread.
  • Decorate with whipped cream and pieces of fresh fruit. Also, add a few pieces of white chocolate that match the colors of the dessert.
