Well friends to start preparing the recipe for cod balls, you are going to follow a few steps, which by paying close attention will serve so that the result is what you expect.

  • For a period of 4 hours you are going to soak the cod, then you are going to boil it in an approximate time of 5 to 10 minutes. You remove it from the water, letting it cool, to remove the thorns (because it will be uncomfortable to find them in the balls). Once this is done, you shred the cod.
  • In a pot you will place a little water and a teaspoon of salt, wait for it to boil and add 2 ½ potatoes and let them cook for 20 minutes. Then you let them cool and once cold you remove the shell.
  • Ready both parts, cut the potatoes into small pieces or as you wish, and mix it with the cod, and you knead with your hand or the utensil you use to mash or knead. When you see that the cod and potatoes have compacted, you start adding 2 tablespoons of water or milk (preferably milk) in a pan, melt a tablespoon of butter and add it to the mixture.
  • Once the dough is prepared, we let it rest, and in a cup we will place ¼ cup of milk and we will place an egg, stir well and begin to make small balls, which we will go through the mixture of egg and milk and then through the breadcrumbs.
  • In a pan you will place enough oil to fry, wait for it to heat up and place the balls. You wait for them to brown and ready the balls.
  • You can serve it accompanied by scrambled egg, garlic sauce and with bacon to your liking.
